Birds
Three times I've rescued, with great difficulty, small birds from between the double-hung windows in my house. Twice a bat has flown into my studio, forcing me to squat under the table for protection, until it finally found its way out again. One winter day I found a vulture eating the rotting vegetable compost in my flower beds, and because it seemed unable to fly away, called Animal Control to remove it. These studies of birds reflect my fascination, repulsion, fear of and affinity for, our "feathered friends".
Exhibited with Rebecca Ibel Gallery, at Scope-Hamptons, 2005.
